(August 26, 2011) Four students from Patrick F. Taylor Science and Technology Academy have chosen Ochsner for their senior project internships. Academic Outreach has matched each student with a staff member who has volunteered the time to mentor these promising students.
During the next 3 months, the students will spend time with their mentors to explore their healthcare areas of interest. The students will spend a minimum of 20 hours with their mentors who will guide the student’s research and provide invaluable insights about their fields. Based on their experiences and research, the students will develop multifaceted senior project presentations that they will present to a panel of judges in December.
The 2011-2012 interns and their extraordinary Ochsner mentors are
Linda Arellano - Dr. Nancy Davis in Pathology
Krysten Jones - Liz Licata in NICU
Jenna Zeringue - Jennifer Zamjahn in Physical Therapy
Nilmo Hernandez - Dr. George Pankey in Infectious Disease
