New Roles in GME for Amedee, Ventura

Ronald Amedee, MD, and Hector O. Ventura, MD, will be taking on new leadership responsibilities within Ochsner’s Graduate Medical Education (GME) area. 

AmedeeIn addition to his role as Chair of the Ear, Nose, and Throat department at Ochsner Medical Center, Dr. Amedee has accepted responsibilities as the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education’s Designated Institutional Official (DIO) for the Ochsner GME programs. As DIO, he will chair the monthly GME Committee and quarterly Program Director meetings and oversee the performance and compliance of all GME activities. Dr. Amedee held a similar role at Tulane before joining Ochsner. He is recognized nationally in the GME community for being a thoughtful leader and expert in GME operations and regulations.


VenturaDr. Ventura will assume the duties of Assistant DIO, with responsibilities for faculty education and development. An excellent teacher who is also passionate about education, Dr. Ventura will continue in his role as a Director of the Heart Failure Program. He is internationally recognized for his expertise and knowledge in this area as well.
