Bring hands-on laboratory experiments to your classroom that support your curriculum standards and learning targets and give your students the opportunity to be a part of real science!

BEST (Bioscience Enrichment for Students and Teachers) Science! is a partnership between Ochsner Medical Center, the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center (LSUHSC) and local school districts and is supported by a 5-year $1.5 million Science Education Partnership Award (SEPA) supported by the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

As a BESTScience! educator, you will participate in a paid, summer professional development workshop, learn to use curriculum supplements like hands-on laboratory modules directly aligned with Louisiana curriculum standards and including supply kits available on loan during the academic school year. You will learn from and work with scientists, physicians, and other faculty from Ochsner, LSUHSC, and other local institutions of higher learning who have committed to participate in the teacher workshops and assist teachers and students throughout the school year.
