The Ochsner House Staff Stipend and Benefit Program is generously competitive with comparable institutions in major cities throughout the United States. Please note that the benefit outlines presented describe some of the important features of the policies. They are, however, not the insurance contract and are subject to change. *The stipend information listed above does not apply to the Tulane/Ochsner Pediatrics and LSU/Ochsner Ophthalmology and Psychiatry programs. Stipend information for these programs may be found on the respective Tulane and LSU program web sites.

Health Insurance Benefits

The following benefits are available to the insured resident and eligible dependents when care is provided or referred by an Ochsner primary care physician:

• No claim forms for Ochsner Clinic and Ochsner hospital services (in network)
• $20 co-pay for office visits
• 100% coverage for inpatient care
• Eye exam, well child care, and other wellness benefits
• Coverage begins on the first recognized day of training

Life Insurance

The Foundation provides $40,000 group term life insurance at no cost to the resident.

Dental Insurance

Dental care is provided through the CIGNA insurance company. We provide two program options: a traditional indemnity plan or a managed dental care plan.

Disability Income Plan

The benefit for total disability is up to 2/3 of stipends.
