Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS)
All first year appointments are made through the National Residency Matching Program (NRMP). Ochsner participates in the Electronic Residency Application System (ERAS).
For the following programs, the NRMP Universal Application is accepted:
- Adult Cardiothoracic Anesthesia (accredited)
- Orthopaedic Sports Medicine (accredited)
- Glaucoma (non-accredited)
- Heart Failure Transplant (non-accredited)
- MRI (non-accredited)
- Obstetric Anesthesia (non-accredited)
- Retina (non-accredited)
- Transplant Hepatology (non-accredited)

PGY 1
- Personal statement
- CV
- Dean's letter
- Transcripts
- At least 3 letters of recommendation from physicians who have supervised you in a clinical setting
- USMLE transcripts
PGY 2 and above
- All documents listed above
- Certificate(s) of previous training
- Medical school diploma
Fellowship
- All documents listed above (dean's letter optional)
- Must submit a recommendation letter from Current Program Director
