If you know the particular article you want, you may go directly to our e-journal list to see if we have access to the full text of the article.

Yes. The Library is open to all patients and visitors during normal business hours, Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM.
Patients and guests are welcome to use the following Library services in person:
- Computers (internet available)
- Books and journals
- Electronic resources
- Printing and photocopying
- Reading/study areas
- Request health information (can be requested via phone or email and then mailed to your address)
Nurses are welcome to use ALL Library resources, in person or via the internet. Resources commonly used by nurses include: CINAHL, Ovid Medline, PubMed, UpToDate, Micromedex, MedlinePlus, e-journals, e-books, ILLiad, Information Search requests, and two portals: Nursing and Nursing Research. Please contact the library staff if you have any questions.
The library is open Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM. If you would like to use the library outside of these hours please apply for after-hours access and return the form to the library staff. NOTE: Physicians and Housestaff have automatic 24 hour access.
The majority of the library resources can be used from home, with the exception of a few resources. Ochsner employees can obtain remote use information from the intranet or by contacting the library staff at infodesk@ochsner.org or x23760.

Yes. As an Ochsner employee you are welcome to use all available library resources. Librarians can assist with training on how to conduct research, as well as review how to use the library resources.
Yes, however, it is only available while on the Ochsner Network.
All library resources are available to employees, no matter where you are located. As long as you are on the Ochsner Network you can access these resources.
Customized classes can be scheduled by contacting the library staff. Orientations of library services are also available by request. Please contact the library staff in order to make arrangements.
Fill out the Library Materials Recommendation Form and submit it to the library staff.
The library provides the majority of its services at no cost to employees and patients. The library absorbs all costs for materials ordered via ILLiad, however, depending on the material requested there may be a charge. In these rare cases you are contacted before further transactions are made.
