Academic Community Outreach develops and coordinates Academic Community Outreach programs by investigating potential opportunities, developing concepts, and implementing programs to enhance student exposure to careers in healthcare and the sciences.

Goals
- Identifying and pursuing opportunities to establish community outreach activities that support science career interest and development.
- Coordinating curriculum development for summer and ongoing science outreach programs.
- Developing and implementing strategies for marketing and generating interest in programs and career opportunities (partnership with HR).
- Creating opportunities for an Ochsner presence in local schools and other venues that will enhance interest in the sciences in the K-12 grade population.
- Assisting in the identification and development of potential affiliation opportunities with local high school and university faculty curriculum development.
