Basic Science Research
Both basic and clinical sciences research occurs through the Center for Health Research in a dedicated research building on the Ochsner main campus on Jefferson Highway. Ochsner staff currently hold 2 National Institutes of Heath (NIH) RO1 awards, in molecular genetics (Effects of Intracellular Angiotensin) and in Cellular Immunology (B Cell Lymphoma Therapy). Several other grants from various foundations are currently held in the basic sciences.

About 1/3rd are industry funded, 1/3rd investigator sponsored, and 1/3rd are Federally funded, including a National Cancer Institute / Cancer Cooperative Group Grant that has been funded for 20 consecutive years.
